There are laws to protect the integrity of one’s reputation, from defamation and discrimination.
Some people are very protective of their repuation, while others couldn’t care less. Those that care about their percieved identity try to maintain a standard of behaviour or appearance so that others have no obvious reason to distrust or question them.
Computer crimes such as hacking into restricted corporate networks, regularly go unreported so that a business’s reputation and consumer confidence is not damaged by security and privacy concerns.
Nurses often have a good reputation and are well respected by the people they serve. Groups with a bad reputation include
- Cheaters and abusers
- Mass media, esp Faux News
- Microsoft
- Politicians
- Used car sales people
- Truck drivers
- Oil and energy company executives
- Economists
