A platform and organisation, mostly consisting of lawyers, which provides legal advice (e.g. related to licensing or patents) to FOSS-related people (developers, managers, etcetera). At this time writing, people on board include Lawrence Lessig (formerly OSI), Eben Moglen (FSF), Daniel B. Ravicher (Pubpat (http://www.pubpat.org), FSF), Diane M. Peters (OSDL (http://www.osdl.org)), Daniel J. Weitzner (W3C), Bradley M. Kuhn (FSF), among others (http://www.softwarefreedom.org/team.html). The organisation is also involved in developing GPLv3.
