Many consider crippleware to be a Bad Thing, but that line of thinking is Dangerous, as software has to be funded and developed somehow. Thanks to such software annoyances, cracks and registration keys have found themselves widely propagated.
Crippleware is a “free” version of a software with some (possibly key) functionality disabled. Extreme forms have existed, making the application merely a functionality slideshow and not a useful program.
