Functions are the things that can be done. They serve a role in driving activities and shaping processes. Functionality can be interactive. Diverse functions can be a hinderance if something is badly designed. Bugs, misconfigurations and other errors can also hamper functionality.

To access the technological features available from a piece of hardware or any kind of system we interface with various functions. A computer or piece of software may be upgraded to gain new functions. Software functionality should be infinitely repeatable and logically presented.

Computer keyboards usually have a set of programmable function keys. Links, routers and hubs provide vital network functions. Two parts of brain functionality are referred to as reasoning and cognition. A function can refer to a gathering of people, eg. at a party. Without cooperation or adherance to protocol things can be dysfunctional.
