Acronym: Hyper Text Markup Language
A simple, extremely popular language for creating and linking documents on the Internet. It allows for pictures and text of different colors, sizes, and fonts to be viewed in a single document and for this document to link to others. HTML is an extensible hypermedia standard which is used and popularized by the WWW. For details check the HyperText Markup Language (HTML) Home Page:
HTML is: A non-proprietary format based upon SGML, and can be created and processed by a wide range of tools, from simple plain text editors – you type it in from scratch- to sophisticated WYSIWYG authoring tools. HTML uses tags such as <code><h1></code> and <code></h1></code> to structure text into headings, paragraphs, lists, hypertext links etc. Here is a 10-minute guide for newcomers to HTML.
