Acronym: Integrated Services Digital Network
ISDN is a communications technology which can integrate both voice and data transmission from multiple sources over the telephone network. ISDN offers to independant 64kbps channel plus a control channel, so is roughly 2 to 3 times quicker than dial-up network connections, but is still considered to be narrowband connection.
ISDN is quickly replaced by DSL technology for the data usage.
