A form of art and/or entertainment where a two-dimensional, non-interactive sequence of visual events that is projected on to a screen or displayed on a video-enabled media platform, like a computer or television. Movies can now be viewed over a range of high quality digital, television services and storage media, eg satellite or cable broadcasts, on DVD, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. File sharing networks have many poorer quality copies of movies, including pornography, anime and popular films.
Movies usually consist of filmed footage of actors, hand-drawn or rendered animations, computer graphics or any combination of the three. Since the early part of the 20th century, movies have also featured complete sound. Movies usually have a plot that ends well with a feel good vibe. At the end or beginning of a movie there are often credits to list contributors.
The movie industry is large but not as big as the gaming industry, which also thrives on copyright law to protect intellectual property.
