Multi-network is a concept whereby the functionality of multiple types of network systems are combined. Sometimes multi-network and multi-protocol are used interchangably.
Examples:
- A peer-to-peer file sharing tool using both the Gnutella and KaZaA networks to search for files.
- A chat client able to connect to both the Yahoo Messenger system and AOL’s AIM, and more.
