Mutual Aid is the idea that the evolution of humanity as a sentient species and the emergence of civilisation were the result of solidarity for the needs of our fellow community members, co-operation and mutual support to overcome our mutual obstacles, defend against our mutual adversaries and create a society in which all who co-operate will mutually benefit. In a way it is the opposite of Darwinism, because success is not seen to emerge from competition and exploitation.
Mutual Aid is the basis of the village community, the labour syndicate (Union), co-operative and collective businesses, mutualist credit unions, mutual insurance, WASTE, p2p, and various mutual aid societies where people volunteer and make donations to help others.
