Natural language processing is a form of artifical intelligence. It is a complex task involving a number of steps to analyse the written word. The text is divided into sentences and each sentence is tagged according to its part of speech.
This syntactic structure is matched to pre-existing linguistic patterns and relevant content is determined. Semantic content is determined via syntactic patterns. Then, information is extracted and a summary can be produced.
