Photography is the capturing of light reflections, the image recorded as a negative on sensitive film by a camera and then reproduced on a film surface or digitised and stored on a magnetic media. Photography has played a leading role in the sciences of astronomy, physics and others.
According to the Flatbed and Film Scanning: A Users Guide film negative and slides contain much more image information and color depth than a photographic print.
Digital cameras allow for faster transfer of images from camera to computer. A good file format for photos is RAW although JPEG is much more common. Digicams supporting the RAW format are more for (semi-)professionals and are more expensive.
