A powerful HTTP Filtering Proxy for Windows that can block ads, manage cookies, and eliminate annoying Javascript behaviour. It also has a powerful proxy manager that can test and organize anonymizing and caching proxies. The Proxomitron is closed-source freeware for Windows, but there are reports that it works well on Linux under WINE (see http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?appId=39). Although the program is no longer being developed, it is still available.
Compare with Privoxy, a GPL‘d alternative.
