A corporation known for its excellent, open source software, founded by Nat Friedman (http://www.nat.org) and Miguel de Icaza (http://primates.ximian.com/~miguel/). Ximian, as SUSE, was acquired by Novell in end 2003, although the projects are still flourishing under Novell’s lead. Interesting projects include: Evolution, Mono, Beagle and Red Carpet. The name ‘Ximian’ means ‘ape’ in Spanish.
